today is day of combing images and disassembling stuff (refer to the previous post).
so i thought i would give you an understanding of what i mean, when i say the sky captain bags started out as a “tent sack”.
after a good washing, seam ripping and ironing you get usable material out of this:
for scale, you can see 1′ squares drawn on the floor, which became:
which became this. but i will say i stared at that canvas for a rediculous amount of time before i could take a blade to it. when you pull apart seams that are older than your parents, you wonder if there’s ghosts tucked in there, waiting to be freed. time to ghostbust the studio…
hope everyone enjoyed their fourth! i know i missed my annual wiffle ball game with the mosholder clan. nothin like eating a bunch of hamburgers and runnin around!
